Is Valorant’s $30 Tacti Force Capsule Bundle Worth It?

tacti force

The Tacti Force Capsule is now available in Valorant. You’ll find it in your store, and my initial reaction to the price was honestly a bit disgusted. When this bundle was first leaked, and we didn’t know the price yet, I was one of the few defending it. I thought a set of five matching gun buddies for your five-stack was a cool idea—something nice for players who want to match with their friends.

But now that we know the price, I think the cost is overblown, even for Valorant standards.

Normal Bundle vs Signature Bundle

There are two options: the Normal Bundle and the Signature Bundle.

Normal Bundle

Looking at the Normal Bundle, all you get is five gun buddies, that’s it. Sure, these gun buddies are pretty cool. For example, they upgrade when you get kills, with a nice animation, and they change into a different form. I like that idea, but the problem is this—this bundle costs $20 for five gun buddies. The premise is that you’re going to be matching with your friends, but for $20, you’ll probably only end up using one of the buddies. Yet, you’re forced to buy all five, and that just feels overpriced for what you’re getting.

Signature Bundle

Now, for the Signature Bundle, you pay an additional $10, so you’re looking at about $30 total for the entire set. This includes the five gun buddies, plus five player cards that are animated and visible in the lobby. It also comes with a spray that randomly cycles between the different creatures from the set.

However, the issue remains the same. No one is going to use all five of those player cards. Most people will only choose one or two, and it’s a bit of a stretch to make you buy the entire set for a feature you’re not going to use fully. The value isn’t there, even with the added bonus of player cards and the spray.

A Better Solution?

In my opinion, this could have been handled much better. For instance, if the gun buddies were sold individually at a lower price, like 500 VP for just one buddy, you could pick the one you like best. Similarly, for the Signature Bundle, it could have been priced at $20-$25, allowing you to pick just one of the player cards and spray you actually want. That would feel fairer.

As it stands, charging $20 for five gun buddies feels way too much—especially when you can buy a Reaver Vandal for a similar price. And making the full bundle cost $30 doesn’t seem right either.

Love it or hate it, Tacti Force Is one of the many bundles that Riot has released that are questionable at best. We have more stories about this all over our website, give it a look!
