Valorant is a team-based first-person tactical hero shooter set in the near future. Players play as one of a set of Agents, characters based on several countries and cultures around the world.
In the main game mode, players are assigned to either the attacking or defending team with each team having five players on it, which gets frequent updates to its characters (called Agents) to shake up the balance every now and then, here are the best agents for the current patch (8.11) that we made so you can dominate the game with informed picks.
Tier | Agents |
S-tier | Iso, Neon, Raze, Clove, Jett |
A-tier | Omen, Cypher, Gekko, Reyna, Sova, Viper, Killjoy, Chamber |
B-tier | Fade, Yoru, Skye, Breach, Phoenix, Deadlock, Astra, Sage, Brimstone, Harbor |
C-tier | Kay/0 |
S-Tier Agents
Jett (Medium)
Jett is a very strong mobile agent, offensively and defensively. She recently received a nerf to the duration of her dash and smoke, but her ultimate, which can be round winning by itself) has not been changed, if played to her strengths, Jett can take opportunities where the enemy team takes a fight that’s not coordinated enough and simply turn a losing round into a win.
Jett’s kit isn’t much about numbers but how they’re used, her skill floor isn’t the lowest but she’s a dynamic agent that only gets better with the player, that’s why she’s so high in our tier list.
Iso (Hard)
Iso’s latest change that overhauled how some of his abilities work (like Double tap) made him a very strong duelist in organized competitive scenes.
Double tap is now a strong solution to his old weakness, being unable to stay alive in the front line for long.
The change is that Double tap can now grant Iso shielding by shooting orbs that generate from killing enemies, which made him a very strong pick in ranked environments that can pair with other characters for effective pushing strategies.
Contingency is amazing for trying to push through a rain of bullets from the enemy side, which if utilized correctly, will easily break down the enemy defenses, and that’s why Iso is incredibly strong, if played effectively.
A-Tier Agents
Reyna (Medium)
Moving on from using coordination to win, Reyna is selfish by design, she doesn’t need a team that works with her to win, she needs an enemy team that doesn’t work with each other.
She feeds on enemy misplays to get herself ahead, which happens a lot in ranked environments, she can limit the enemy’s potential to heal, or get energy for ultimates, she can block vision for an area so her alone can walk through it without being seen to get her next kill, and her ultimate that makes her shoot faster, heal more, and refresh this buff with every kill.
Cypher (Medium)
Cypher is the best agent for players who want to control the map, and Riot doubled down on that fact in a previous patch (7.09) giving him strong upgrades to his tripwires, making them rearm if not killed, which can be tough to focus during a fire down between the two teams.
Their global range in addition to map knowledge make Cypher incredibly strong in the hands of an experienced player that will make every enemy player think twice about going to a corner on the map.
B-Tier Agents
Phoenix (Easy)
Probably the first selfish agent that new players are introduced to, Phoenix is amazing for plays, he’s fast, with a lot of control abilities (like his blind and firewall) and somewhat safe with his ultimate that makes him revive when killed, but his numbers took couple punches over the time, and since he’s a duelist that has to take some damage before scoring a take down, he’s outshined by other duelists that do not have this constraint (like Reyna) making him a solid pick, but not the best at his category.
The Importance of Choosing Strong Characters
In Valorant, the choice of agent can significantly impact your gameplay experience. Strong agents provide strategic advantages, whether it’s through powerful offensive capabilities, superior utility, or game-changing ultimate abilities. Understanding which agents are currently the best can help players climb the competitive ladder more effectively..
Why Characters Change Tiers
Valorant’s developers at Riot Games continuously tweak agent abilities to ensure a balanced and fair playing field. These balance patches can buff or nerf agents, shifting the meta and altering tier lists. For instance, an agent that was once overpowered might receive nerfs to abilities or stats, reducing their effectiveness. Conversely, underperforming agents may receive buffs, making them more viable. Staying updated with these changes is crucial for competitive play, as the meta can shift rapidly with each patch.
